Building Relationships through Food
I can remember going to Paris when I was 19. I was this total hippie wanna-be chick, wearing oversized, extra large, tie-dyed grateful dead tee-shirts, long wool skirts and birkenstocks, carrying a top of the line, brand spankin’ new suitcase, with wheels on it, of course- because I’m too lazy to carry my own weight.
I showed up in Paris, and knew I’d be there for a month. I...

The Birth of Organicopia: A house hold Name
In the summer of 2001, I put on my back pack and posted myself in the Mecca of the culinary hub, Paris. For one full summer I toured the streets of Paris, eating pastries fresh daily from the bakeries and exploring the brasseries. These sumptuous dining rooms began life as simple beer taverns - ‘brasserie’ actually means ‘brewery’ in French. The great brasseries boast...
My first taste of fresh
It was the summer of 1985, I was 4. The air was hot and dry. The soil has a certain scent to it, once it heats up from the morning sun. It’s like a mulch, musty, tanbark smell. looking back.... '89
I remember hanging out in the gazebo. Foothill elementary. We thought we may be able to dig to Marisa’s grandma’s house, in Monte Sereno. It was a long way, digging in the sand. Kenny Merthe thought we may be able to fly there. So we jumped. Not very far though. Maybe like, 3 or 4 feet…. it felt like we were really going the distance. That was with my best friend,...

Ode to Ice Cream
Good Morning America!
I just picked up my delicious order of milk yesterday evening from Claraville Farms. MMM, there’s nothing quite like the richness inside one of those classic, glass milk bottles.
Because it’s summer, although the sky is cloudy and foggy and cold, in the middle of August, I thought today would be the perfect time to make some good ol’ fashioned ice...

Hi Everyone. I hope you all had a good weekend. I sure did.
I did an amazing food and wine pairing on Friday that I wanted to share with you. It was a little short notice, they only gave me 24 hours. I have to be honest, I prefer at LEAST 72 hours notice, just so I can get all my ducks in a row and don’t have to totally panic. But on Friday, I pulled it off, and was quite pleased with...
Can 100% natural food really taste delicious? Apparently so.

Hi Everyone! I’ve finally tapped into the wonderful world of social media, and by the looks of it- I’m assuming I’m about 3 yrs. late.
I’m from sunny Saratoga, Ca. ( a small town, in the heart of the Silicon Valley and I think it’s pretty safe to say, “where everybody knows your name.” ) Lately, I’ve been seriously contemplating my path in life. ...
